Earth Concept Inc. is an event and promotions company that celebrates sustainability and social responsibility; and focuses on earth-friendly resources, practices, and lifestyles. Our events present live music, artist projects, video programs, vendors and community collaborations, often in an expo environment.We build on partnerships with businesses, organizations, cultural institutions, schools, and individuals. Our goal is to achieve wide-ranging impact for earth-friendly sustainability through high-profile concert events, community outreach, and collaborations.
For example, at our 2007 Mixed Bag Festival, we put on an event that not only entertained people with the musical and fashion stylings of local talented artists, but also provided information and access to companies operating in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner. We rented booth space to New Belgium Brewery, a eco-friendly brewery which has its own wastewater treatment facility that cleans their process waters and creates their own energy. New Belgium became the country’s first brewery to subscribe to wind-generated electricity in 1998, and they brought their story and two ales to share. REC Solar rented a booth and displayed their grid-tied solar electric design products and technology, describing the installation process for the interested. (Who isn’t?) Hay-Lo brought her delightful line of clothing, which is entirely created by re-fashioning vintage clothing. Captain Blaze paid us a visit, the man holds the world record for moonwalking- moonwalking for Earth, even! Captain Blaze moonwalks to raise awareness about renewable energy and energy effienciency. Film-makers tied everything together with their informative short flicks. All this occurred anchored by the musical talent of Stephen and Scott, Lawhead, and Rhythm, and the fashion talent of Funklectic, Rachel Tai and Giddy Up.
The result was an electric evening bringing good people, information, talent and technology together; where all glass, plastic, aluminum and paper were recycled, and money raised to off-set energy consumption to wind power. Goods and services were exchanged, including one of the most powerful commodities of all: information. This took place in a relaxed and fun setting of an entertainment venue. Pleasure and awe were among the forefronts of the evening.
